ADVOCATE – Residential Construction Advisors is in search of a former builder or construction manager with a significant amount of project management experience in luxury home construction for flexible, part-time or full-time employment.

The Senior Project Advocate’s role will focus on supporting the specific needs of homeowners and coordinating a project team through all phases of design and construction. The successful candidate must be adept in time management, budgeting, and organization, and possess the interpersonal skills that would allow them to effectively collaborate with the owner, the architectural and design teams, the general contractors, and all sub-contractors. This job is one of being a leader and advocate to advance our clients’ objectives.

Experience:

10+ years of professional experience in residential construction, preferably in luxury home building. Also, a degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field is preferred (or equivalent combination of experience/education).

Responsibilities:
  • Develop, lead, and manage a project team composed of high-quality experts that have the confidence and capability to advance our clients’ needs and interests.
  • Provide expert guidance to homeowners to maximize value in the building process.
  • Ensure all project team members are aligned with the same project goals and objectives throughout all phases of design and construction.
  • Monitor and manage owner, design team, and contractor communication during design and construction.
  • Create detailed, conceptual budgeting and estimating models.
  • Ensure a reasonable, realistic budget is developed, maintained, and achieved.
  • Manage clients, contractors, and consultants to adhere to the overall budget and schedule. 
  • Review professional services contracts, fee proposals, design team drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Oversee contracts and approve pay applications throughout the duration of the project.
  • Ensure quality construction and best practices are instituted.

Project Advocate

The Project Advocate’s role will focus on supporting the Senior Project Advocate though all phases of design and construction. The successful candidate must be adept in time management, budgeting, and organization with a keen eye for potential construction issues.

  • Ensure a reasonable, realistic budget is developed, maintained, and achieved. 
  • Review professional services contracts, fee proposals, design team drawings, specifications, and cost estimates. 
  • Review contracts and approve pay applications throughout the duration of the project.

Construction Accountant and Auditor

Job description:

ADVOCATE – Residential Construction Advisors is in search of an accounting and auditing professional for a position in the luxury residential field for flexible, part-time or full-time employment. 

At ADVOCATE, we serve as homeowners’ representatives for luxury home construction, and we specialize in ensuring that the owner’s interests are protected throughout the design, bidding, and construction process. You’ll join a team that is committed to successfully executing our client’s vision and the team’s project goals on time and on budget, with exceptional quality and great value. The Construction Accountant and Auditor role is responsible for gathering and analyzing all financial aspects of projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance, as well as identifying issues and potential risks. The successful candidate must be adept in budgeting, organization, and audit procedures, and possess the interpersonal skills that would allow them to effectively collaborate with the owner, the architectural and design teams, the general contractors, and all sub-contractors. 

Experience:

5+ years of professional experience in accounting or finance, preferably in construction, architecture, interior design, or related field. Also, a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred (or equivalent combination of experience/education). Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or relevant professional certification preferred.

Responsibilities:
  • Creating detailed, conceptual budgets. 
  • Ensuring a reasonable, realistic budget is developed, maintained, and achieved for projects. 
  • Analyzing existing budgets for potential issues or fraud. 
  • Identifying potential financial risks associated with a project. 
  • Developing auditing procedures. 
  • Communication with homeowners and build professionals to gather needed financial information. 
  • Reviewing and approving bids, estimates, and pay applications throughout a project.
